Customer challenge
A trolley line in a mine means costly infrastructure, movement limited to electrified sections and permanent maintenance costs. Diesel traction, in turn, brings emissions underground. The solution is a locomotive that carries its energy with it.

UNIFREM 400 VONSCH supplied the drives and the complete electrical equipment of the locomotive: the traction converter and drive control, a Li-ion battery assembly with a battery management system (BMS), a traction-battery charger with its own control system, and the vehicle's complete electrical equipment. VONSCH traction drives: 100+ mining locomotives in 8 countries, with ATEX / IECEx certifications for explosive atmospheres.
