Electric Drives
Electric Drives control the speed and start-up of the motors, increase efficiency with frequency converters, allow energy to be fed back to the grid via regenerative converters and ensure gentle start-up of the motors with soft starts.

Frequency inverters have been an integral part of the industry for many years as they enable very efficient and reliable control of AC electric motors.

QUATROFREM recuperative frequency converters, also called Active Front End, are also built on the popular UNIFREM platform, but unlike them, they have a controlled rectifier on the input network side that allows bidirectional power flow.

Soft starters, sometimes also called soft starters, are devices for smooth starting of motors to the nominal speed of the drive as well as for smooth running down of motors of drives with low inertia, when it is necessary to drive the device – for example, when running down pumps, a smooth and longer running down eliminates the “banging” of the check valve.
The principle of softstarts is a smooth voltage change (phase control) during start-up (catch-up), thus limiting the starting current, but as a consequence also limiting the motor torque. Therefore, softstarts are not suitable for starting large inertia masses and of course they are not suitable for smooth speed control, that is what frequency converters are designed for.

If you require an inverter outside the standard product range, or if you need an inverter with features you can’t find on the market, we are ready to meet your challenges!
We have been specialising in customised electric drive solutions almost since the company’s inception. We have solved Traction Drives for locomotives, special machinery, residential and industrial elevators and have succeeded in many applications where our competitors could not provide a suitable solution.

Real-world applications of electric drives
Pumps
A typical application for frequency converters is pumps. We have been installing inverters for pumps since the very beginning of their production at VONSCH.

Fans
Industrial fans are one of the most common applications for frequency converters, we have a lot of experience with them.

Traction Drives
In the development of traction drives, we use our many years of experience, especially in the field of control and regulation of asynchronous motors.
In cooperation with partners and engineering companies, we have developed several types of electric locomotives for mining applications in recent years, which have been successfully deployed in mines in Poland, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Russia and other countries.

High-speed drives
In response to market demands for frequency converters for high-speed motors used in drives for milling machines, grinders, spindles, etc., we have developed the UNIFREM VF high-frequency converters. This is a unique hardware and software modification of the original UNIFREM frequency converters, which allows to achieve an output frequency of up to 3000 Hz at a PWM switching frequency of up to 20 kHz.

Servo Systems
There are a variety of actuators in the industry from different manufacturers and functional options. However, our customers often request to replace an existing servo system based on an asynchronous or synchronous motor. Thanks to the extensive software package of UNIFREM inverters and their peripherals, such a replacement is often feasible.
If you need to design and implement a servo system using our inverter in your facility, we will be happy to help you from the beginning of development to the successful completion of functional testing.
