1. from AC mains input to DC voltage for battery charging,
2. from DC battery voltage to AC voltage for “artificial” network, for powering backup devices

Disadvantages

1 energy conversion method

1. from the input AC mains to DC voltage for recharging the battery, in case of a mains failure the power flow is reversed – from the battery through the GSE CONTROL inverter to the loads, the mains is disconnected after the failure is detected.

Many technology-intensive applications require the provision of a backup solution to complete the duty cycle in the event of a power failure. This is crucial for safety, smooth operation and user comfort.

VONSCH frequency inverters are designed to minimize backup power requirements, yet allow reliable backup operation. This approach is applicable in various fields such as electric trolleys, casting lines or rolling mills.

Solution for emergency lift access

In the field of elevator technology, modern solutions include the provision of an aiconic reach of the elevator car to the nearest floor during a power failure or in the event of malfunctions. Such a backup power solution ensures the safe departure of passengers from the elevator.

The backup power supply must provide power:

control system,
control and safety circuits,
frequency converters for both stroke and door,
elevator brakes, at least for the time needed for the emergency run.

Optimized backup power supply VONSCH UPS-ZZ-325V

We have developed a UPS-ZZ-325V backup power supply that is designed specifically for elevators. This system eliminates the energy losses common with standard UPS and offers:

DC voltage 325 V for stroke drive (motor power 1 – 2.5 kW),
AC 230 V for doors, control system and other circuits (power up to 500 W).

Advantages of the UPS-ZZ-325V backup power supply

Dynamic adaptation of output voltage to changes in consumption, eliminating the risk of outages,
Built-in protection (thermal, overcurrent and voltage),
Reliable performance even under impulse loads (e.g. during start-up).

UNIFREM frequency converters – efficient use of backup energy

UNIFREM frequency converters include special features that allow reliable operation even at lower voltages on the backup power supply.

How it works

Before the lift moves, the inverter briefly applies the brake to determine the energetically advantageous direction of movement (according to the load of the car and the counterweight).
The inverter can operate in generator mode if required, which reduces power consumption.

Result

With minimal energy, the lift takes passengers to the nearest floor where they can safely exit the cabin. This system ensures maximum efficiency and safety even in emergency situations.
