Characteristics and advantages
Wide battery support
It supports both Li-ion (NMC) and LFP modules in S12P01 configuration (12 cells in series; e.g. Samsung SDI 120 Ah/94 Ah, 1P12S-147 Ah LV01) and in cooperation with VONSCH, integration of other module types is also possible.
Rich diagnostics and monitoring
Advanced fault and alarm monitoring features with over-current, under-voltage and over-voltage detection ensure reliable operation and fast identification of fault causes.
Three voltage measuring points
Accurate voltage measurements at the battery level, precharge relay and output power relay provide a complete overview of the power path status.
Passive cell balancing
Integrated passive balancing unifies cell voltages, increasing usable capacity and extending battery pack life.
Parallel string cooperation
The ability to parallel sort individual strings allows scaling of performance and capacity according to application requirements.
Comprehensive security
Voltage monitoring of each cell and six temperature measurement points per battery module increase the level of protection; optional integration of insulation condition measurement (e.g. BENDER AGH420) adds an additional layer of safety.
Open communication
The RS-485 interface and optional PROFINET and Modbus TCP industrial protocols facilitate integration into existing control systems.
Convenient operation and diagnostics
Setup and diagnostics are provided by VONSCH Drive Studio; an optional web interface is also available for convenient remote access.
Topology
The VONSCH LOKO BMS is a BQ79606A chip-based BMS system from Texas Instruments®.
It is present on two PCBs from VONSCH:
BMS12C board
The BMS12C board is used to measure the voltage and temperature of the cells, balance and communicate with the previous and subsequent modules on the Daisy Chain bus.
It does not contain any software or firmware, at system startup BQ79606A circuits on this board are configured from BMSM3V3: addressing, cell working limits, balancing, data collection and others.
