Did you know that the highest located frequency converter in Slovakia is on Lomnický Peak?
This inconspicuous hero rotates the dome of the observatory at an altitude of 2634 m above sea level.
We discovered it by chance, during a climb up Lomnicky Peak – where the open day of the Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences was taking place.
It is our VQFREM, year of manufacture: 2007.
The technology, which works reliably even in extreme conditions, deserves admiration.
